2. Pertussis stats on actually dying; If you are scared of the Pertussis, The CDC states that on average there can be between 10,00 and 40,000 cases and UP to 20 deaths a year. So if you want to find out what the percentage of the chance of dying if you get pertussis is 0.05%. So to find your chance of getting pertussis you need to know there are about 318,000,000 people in the United States. So your risk of getting pertussis based on 40,000 cases each year is 0.01%. WOW!!! 3. In Florida, there was an outbreak of pertussis (whooping cough) and only 2 of the 27 kids to get the disease were unvaccinated. The rest were fully vaccinated.
